We can offer a comprehensive insurance policy specifically designed for the removal industry.
Our insurance starts at £50 and will cover up to £25,000 sums insured. If you require a greater level of insurance, this can be revised for you.

If you currently have Homes & Contents Insurance and will be continuing the same policy in your new home, you may find that your policy will also cover your effects during the removal.
It is best to speak with your insurance provider for further information.
If your policy does cover your removal, your insurance company may want to know who you are moving with and if the company is registered with the BAR (British Association of Removers), which we are.
Occasionally there will be events take place that are out of your control but could mean that we are unable to access your new property at the agreed time.
We would usually expect to be able to access your property by 1.30pm and a waiting time charge of £30 + vat per man per hour may apply should this not be the case.
The Late Key Waiver gives you the flexibility of a three-hour waiting time.
This means our crews will be on site site to unload your belongings until 7pm, or until their allocated working hours under the working time directive have expired, at which time the crew will return all contents to our storage depot and additional costs will apply. Please note: If the removal cannot be completed within the allocated day, a delayed access charge will be applied to complete the removal at a mutually agreed date and time.
For as little as £40 + vat we offer a Late Key Waiver that offers you the peace of mind that should there be a delay beyond your control, you would not be liable for any additional charges.
Please note, subject to completion we would expect our client to arrive promptly at the new property with access keys allowing our crew to immediately unload to your new property.
Once you have confirmed your removal date and paid your deposit, your booking is then subject to the BAR terms and conditions.
Should there be unforeseen circumstances beyond your control and you need to either postpone or cancel the booking this would be subject to a postponement / cancellation fee.
Our terms and conditions incorporate our position in respect of postponement charges and we would bring your attention to clause 6 (excluding reference to cancellation). In the event that your removal is postponed for any reason between 10 – 5 days prior to the removal date, the charge is 30% of the removal charges. If less than 5 days prior to the removal date, it is 60% of the removal charge.
For as little as £25 + vat we offer a Postponement / Cancellation Waiver, giving you the reassurance that should things not go to plan, there would be no additional fees to pay.

Where we have used the words “postponement” or “postponed” will equally refer to dates that are either moved forward (i.e. to an earlier date) or moved back (i.e. to a later date).
Alban / Chiltern / Bedford & Luton Moves has signed up to the BAR Code of practice which covers both private domestic and commercial removals within the UK & Europe. The code sets out the standards that all BAR Members must meet in respect of customer service, fair trading, advertising and complaint handling. Compliance with the Code is mandatory upon all members of the BAR. Its purpose is to maintain and, where necessary, raise standards of practice to ensure that our customer receive the most efficient relocation possible. We particularly draw your attention to section 6 of the BAR Code of Practice relating to Cancellation or Significant Alteration by the Member and the provisions for refunding pre-payments and deposits.
